Latina among 24 homicides reported from January thru March in Milwaukee this year.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - At least one Latina has been reported murdered in Milwaukee since January in connection with a fatal shooting. On January 22, 2025, Jocelyn Jimenez, 22, of Milwaukee was fatally shot at the 3900 block of W. Cheyenne Ave., including her parents ages 56 and 54, who both survived. Jimenez's brother has been charged in the homicide and attempted homicides,  according to Milwaukee County court records.

Jimenez's brother, Gerardo Jimenez-Rico, 32, confessed to police that he shot his sister and both his parents for being bullied for years. 

Jimenez-Rico was criminally charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse inflicting pain, and two counts for attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon and domestic abuse inflicting pain.

If convicted, Jimenez-Rico is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole for 1st-degree intentional homicide and up to life in prison without the possibility of parole for each count of attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide. 

A cash bond of $1M was set for Jimenez-Rico, according to Milwaukee County court records.

Jimenez is survived by her 3-year-old daughter.
