Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, Tony Báez, Milwaukee Public Schools board member from District 6th confirmed that he will not seek re-election in April 6, 2021.
Báez released the following statement, "I am retiring from the MPS board, but not from educational advocacy at the local community level. I will continue to support progressive actions by MPS board members that protect and grow public education; improve the learning of our students; protect and advance the interests of MPS employees, and that eradicate racism and inequality. Equity and anti-racism must be a concern of us all; our public schools must be a bastion of humanity that meaningfully gives voice to its members, ensures input, and advances social and racial justice for our students, parents, employees, and the community. We must continue to ensure that public schools are truly democratic institutions!"
