Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Carmen Tina Arvelo Schwingle, 41, was identified by Milwaukee police as the suspect who murdered Hermelinda Sierra de Arvelo, 45, and her son, Arturo Arevelo, 12, who is Carmen's brother inside a basement at the National Hall, 939 W. National Ave. in Milwaukee's Southside. Police say the deceased woman's husband, Miguel Arvelo came home and found his wife and son suffering from gunshot wounds around 11:20 a.m. on Saturday and called police. Both victims died at the scene, police reported.

Arvelo Schwingle, the stepdaughter of Sierra de Arvelo was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at McKinley Marina around 12:45 p.m. by some passers-by who notified police. Arvelo Schwingle was the suspected shooter in the double homicide, according to Milwaukee Police Sergeant Timothy Gauerke, from the Office of the Chief. 

Arvelo Schwingle had stopped over for breakfast on Saturday morning at the National Hall, which has an adjacent living apartment. Her father gave her $1,500 to find an apartment and he left to do an errand, when he returned later, he discovered both his wife and son shot and called police.

Family members say, that Arvelo Schwingle had a history of mental illness, but that has not been confirmed. She recently bought a handgun and might have been the same weapon used in the homicides. The homicide and suicide investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Greenfield, WI - On Sunday, Shannon Buhler, 24, of West Allis was taken into custody after going eastbound on westbound highway lanes on I-894 & I-43 near 92 Street and crashing head on with a box truck and striking a Cadillac, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). The three vehicle crash happen around 2:28 a.m. on early Sunday.

Buhler was taken to Froedtert Hospital for a broken arm after being extracted from her vehicle by the Greenfield Fire Department first responders and under went surgery. She was taken into custody. She is facing DUI first offense charges, going the wrong-way on a highway and 2nd-degree reckless endangerment. If convicted, Buhler is facing up to 12 years in prison.

A press release by Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. says, he ordered a continued aggressive weekend Driving Under the Influence (DUI) initiative to rid the Milwaukee County freeway system of drunken drivers. This weekend's Operation Drive Sober initiative, from Friday at 4:00 p.m. through Sunday at 6:00 a.m., resulted in the arrest of 16 drunken drivers. The average PBT result was 14.
Repeat offenders arrested were : Daniel Iverson, age 42, of Glendale, DUI-5th/Hit and Run; DUI-3rd offenders: James Nash, age 49, and Eric Knaebe, age 22, both of Milwaukee; DUI-2nd offenders: Ryan Ferguson, age 28, of Cedarburg; Juan Ontiveros-Zavala, age 26, of West Allis; and Milwaukee residents Soom Boonnam, age 36, Marco Ocegueda, age 23, and Jonathan Adams, age 31.

First-time offenders taken into custody were: Shannon Buhler, age 24, of West Allis, DUI- 1st/Wrong Way on Highway; Milwaukee residents Carrie Knapp, age 35, Elisa Neubacher, age 21, Deandre Euell, age 30, and Warithuddin Majeed, age 25. Also arrested were Robert Schroeder, age 26, of Lake Mills; William Newman, age 21, of Madison; and Ronald Smith, age 62, of Cudahy, according to the MCSO.

Milwaukee Latino Immigration Activist Juan Carlos Ruiz Has Passed Away

A well known Latino immigration activist has passed away, according to family members.

Milwaukee, WI - On Friday it was announced that Juan Carlos Ruiz, 53, a well known community and immigration rights activist for the last 20 years passed way on Thursday night and his family is mourning his lost. Ruiz worked with national organizations for immigration reform and was the founder of the Latino Carnaval Parade and Street Festival annual event in Milwaukee's Southside. 

Ruiz was among the 60,000 immigrants and supporters who rallied at the Day Without Latinos and Immigrants on February 18 at the Capitol in Madison against several Republican anti-immigrant bills. He is originally from Huancayo, Peru and studied Psychology at the National University of Federico Villarreal. He also graduated from the Colegio Salesiano "Santa Rosa" in Huancayo, according to his Facebook account.

Ruiz spoke multiple languages, French, Spanish, English, Brazilian, Portuguese, Quechua and Italian.

Ruiz was also a radio host for Nfoque Latino at 1460 AM WJTI and a LULAC member.

Milwaukee, WI - El viernes se anunció que Juan Carlos Ruiz, de 53 años, un conocido activista quien luchaba por los derechos de la comunidad hispana y de una reforma justa de inmigración durante los últimos 20 años falleció la noche del jueves y su familia está de luto por su lamentable fallecimiento. Ruiz trabajó con organizaciones nacionales y locales en la lucha para una reforma justa migratoria y fue el fundador del evento anual, el desfile de Carnaval Latino y el Festival en el Southside de Milwaukee.
Ruiz fue uno de los 60,000 inmigrantes y simpatizantes que se reunieron en el Día sin latinos y Inmigrantes el 18 de febrero en el Capitolio en Madison en contra de varios proyectos de ley anti-inmigrantes por los legisladores republicanos en Wisconsin.

Latinos In Minneapolis Blocked Downtown Traffic To Protest Recent Deportations

Immigrants are being detained and deported in Minneapolis for not possessing Minnesota driver licenses.

Minneapolis, MN - Hundreds of immigrants, faith ministers and supporters from Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Illinois blocked the streets in front of the Hennepin County Government Center at the 300 of S. 6th Street on February 26 to denounce the recent raids authorized by the Obama administration and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They also send a message to Governor Mark Brandt Dayton (D) to allow access for undocumented immigrants to apply for Minnesota driver licenses. The protesters claim that undocumented immigrants stopped for routine traffic stops are detained because they don't have driver licenses and then are turned over to ICE for deportation proceedings causing the separation of families in the state. 

The rally against recent deportations and demand for Governor Dayton to allow access of driver licenses for undocumented immigrants was sponsored by the Asamblea de Derechos Civiles and the Gamaliel National organization, according to organizers.

Lionel Reyes From Illinois Busted For Marijuana Distribution In Kenosha

Kenosha, WI - On Wednesday, a joint Kenosha Drug Operations Group (KDOG) arrested Lionel Reyes, 31, of Park Ridge, Illinois for drug possession with intent to distribute THC (marijuana). Reyes was arrested at the Woodman's Market parking lot around 1:30 p.m., according to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office.

Reyes was charged with two felony counts for drug manufacturing of THC (200 - 1000 grams) and for possession of THC (10,000 grams) with intend to deliver. Bond for Reyes was set at $50,000 cash.
If convicted, Reyes is facing up to 6 years in prison and $10K in fines for manufacturing THC and up to 15 years in prison and $50K in fines for intent to deliver THC.

Police confiscated 81.13 ounces of marijuana in five vacuumed seal bags worth more than $28,395.

Kenosha HDOG authorities with the Chicago DEA executed a search warrant at Reyes' home in the 1700 block of Potter Rd. in Park Ridge and confiscated 10 pounds of high-grade marijuana worth more than $56,000, multiple weapons including two hanguns, a rifle, shotgun, ammunition and $120,000 in cash.

Charles Edward Donner, A Jewish Descent KKK Klansman Won't Face Charges For Multiple Stabbings

51-year-year old Klansman acted in self-defense by stabbing three people before a KKK anti-immigrants and anti-Muslim rally in Anaheim, according to the Orange County D.A.'s office.

Anaheim, California - The Orange County District Attorney's office has decided not charged Charles Edward Donner, 51, of San Francisco with last Saturday's (Feb. 27) stabbing of three people before a Ku Klux Klan anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rally near Pearson Park in Anaheim. Multiple Facebook photos, posted videos on social media showed Donner welding a knife and stabbing at least three people from a group of counter protesters who clashed with Klansman.

The Klansman were scheduled to hold a rally considered anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim at a diverse neighborhood when they were beaten up by Whites, Afro-Americans, Latinos and others, according to video footage images. At least 13 people including Donner were taken into custody. Donner was the only Klansman arrested in the incident.

According to El Tecolote Newspaper, Donner petitioned to changed his last name in 1986 from D'Honau to Donner and apparently is denying his Jewish descent and family Catholic affiliations. He is the son of the late Charles Edward D'Honau and Maureen D'Honau who language was Yiddish, according to a U.S. census record in 1920. Donner's brother, William D'Honau told the Tecolote Newspaper that Donner was "...very mentally ill."
