Multiple Vehicles Displaying Mexican Flag Towed By Milwaukee County Sheriff Deputies For Violations Involving Open Bottle And Squealing Tires At Mitchell Park

An impromptu Mexican flag waving cruising event at Mitchell Park in Milwaukee drew more than 300 vehicles prompting Milwaukee County Sheriff deputies to close the parking lot and disperse crowds.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Sunday, multiple people (drivers) were cited by Milwaukee County Sheriff deputies for open bottle (beers) and squealing tires including burning rubber involved in an impromptu Mexican flag cruising and parading event that originated at the Mitchell Park Domes parking lot. The impromptu event drew more than three hundred vehicles and scores of crowds of all ages at the Mitchell Park parking lot.
Milwaukee County deputies closed the Mitchell Park parking lot around 7:00 p.m. after multiple vehicles began to squeal tires and burned rubber. No injuries were reported by Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies at the scene. At least 13 Milwaukee County Sheriff's squads showed up to qualm the impromptu gathering at the park.
The Mexican flag cruising and impromptu parading in the Southside of Milwaukee usually ignites during the traditional Fiesta Patrias, Mexican Independence Day and other events celebrating national holidays for Latinos.



Update: 5 vehicles towed, 15 citations issued for multiple violations and no arrests made by Milwaukee County Sheriff deputies at Mitchell Park during the Mexican Independence impromptu flag waving gathering on Sunday.

According to Milwaukee County Sheriff Deputy Cassandra Joshua, the Public Information Officer with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) when contacted by Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) confirmed that on Sunday, September 15, 2019, at approximately 4:36 p.m., Milwaukee County Sheriff deputies responded to Mitchell Park for multiple reports of reckless driving and large crowds gathered in the adjacent parking lot.

The initial caller reported that crowds had grown to 100 plus people, and individuals were spewing over into the city streets of South 27th St. and West National Ave.

MCSO notified Milwaukee Police Department of the report of individuals in the streets.

Once deputies arrived on scene, multiple citations were issued.

MCSO issued citations for:

 • 5 - Registration Violations

 • 5 - Driver License Violations, (Operating While Suspended and No license issued)

 • 3 - Unnecessary Acceleration

 • 1 -  Excessive Window Tint

 • 1 - No Insurance

 • 15 total citations

 • 5 vehicles were towed

 • No arrests
