Milwaukee - On Tuesday, Milwaukee Public School (MPS) sixth grade teacher Tammi L. Monty, 40, was sentenced by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Richard J. Sankovitz to one year in prison and four years of supervision for child enticement. She was facing up to 25 years in prison.
In late May, she pleaded guilty to one felony count of child enticement, including sexual contact. MPS will now be able to finally terminate Monty's employment as a teacher.
On January 31, Monty and an eight grade 14-year-old male student were busted by a Milwaukee police officer inside Monty's SUV in the rear seat with their underwear below the knees, according to the criminal complaint. The teenager told the officer, that Monty had called him earlier in the night and wanted to "hang out" (see him). She picked him up from the south side of Milwaukee at about 1:30 a.m. and drove to the vacant lot near the 6th Police District Station.
Monty had wanted to have sex with the teenager and asked him to undress. When he was about to put on a condom they were busted by the intruding officer.
The investigation later revealed that Monty had asked the teenager to send her a picture of his genitals. She had previously send him a photo of her breasts, according to the complaint.
Monty had been suspended from the Monitoba Elementary School in the south side of Milwaukee.
