Milwaukee - On Tuesday, Hearst Television WISN12, an ABC affiliate reported that their signal will be temporarily transmitted on Time Warner, despite their carriage contract agreement had expired. WISN stated that "Unfortunately, notwithstanding our best efforts to reach a new carriage agreement, we were unable to do so. However, Hearst Television has granted Time Warner a temporary extension of the negotiation deadline.
"Because of that extension, WISN 12 will continue to be seen on Time Warner cable systems in southeast Wisconsin for the time being," according to the Hearst news report. The carriage broadcast contract agreement expired at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, but an extension was granted by Hearst.
It also warned Time Warner subcribers to seek other means to receive transmission, since no further negiotiations have been scheduled and the future of their transmission being carried by Time Warner is uncertain.
WISN confirmed that it will continue to transmit its signal free over the air and in other cable systems, as well on the following satellite providers DIRECTV and DISH Network.
