The bodies of three news photojournalists found in water canal, they had been missing since Wednesday, according to Mexican authorities.

Boca de Rio, Veracruz, Mexico - On Thursday, members of the Mexican Navy police discovered four dismembered bodies in a canal. They were later identified as Guillermo Luna Varela, Gabriel Huge, Esteban Rodriguez, including the body of an unidentified woman. All the bodies showed signs of torture, had been dismembered and placed on four separate garbage bags.
Luna and Huge worked for the Veracruznews website. They had also worked for the Notiver newspaper. Rodriguez worked for the A-Z newspaper and had left since last August. The photojournalists had been threaten for reporting on the local drug cartels.
Family members say, both Luna and Huge had disappeared since Wednesday and were reported missing to authorities after they failed to answer their cellphones.
On April 28, the body of Regina Martinez was found in her home. Martinez died from blunt force trauma from being beaten and then was suffocated, according to a forensic report. She worked for the Proceso magazine and did reports on the drug cartels, including local police corruption. Police officers worked and moonlighted for the cartels in the region.
