68-year-old Ramón Torres, Local Salsa Vibeplayer For Septeto Charambó Puerto Rican Venue Band Passed Away

Torres, a local Milwaukee popular and long time vibeplayer musician for various Salsa groups including Septeto Charambó has passed away.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Monday, Ramón Torres, 68, passed away in Milwaukee. Torres was a local popular and long time vibeplayer (vibraphonist, which the vibraphone resembles the steel marimba) musician for various Salsa groups including Septeto Charambó.

Torres had been a musician for over 40 years in the Milwaukee area specializing in Latin and Salsa music venue. He also played with Orquesta Isla Adentro in Milwaukee.

His was the vibeplayer for the popular Septeto Charambó band in Milwaukee.

Ramón Torres was the beloved husband for 20 years of the late Olga Mateo Torres, 59, who passed away on February 17, 2011. Ramón was also the proud father of Melissa E. Mateo Torres, crowned Miss Hispanic-American Queen of the Flowers Pageant in 1986, at the Eagles Club, event sponsored by Tocas Flowers from the Southside of Milwaukee.
