17-year-old Moses Xavier Martinez Charged With The Double Homicide Of Isaac Rodriguez-Duarte, 15, And Diego Francisco Herrera-Mejia, 16, Felony Warrant Issued For His Arrest


Martinez who has been charged in a double homicide remains on the run and an arrest warrant has been issued for his arrest in Milwaukee County.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Monday, Moses Xavier Martinez, 17, was criminally charged with two felony counts for 1st-degree intentional homicide including use of a dangerous weapon and one felony count for 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety including use of dangerous weapon for the June 15th double homicide of Isaac Rodriguez-Duarte, 15, and Diego Francisco Herrera-Mejia, 16, and the shooting of Emily Rocha, 14, who was shot in thigh and suffered a non-life threatening injury at the 900 block of W. Manitoba Ave. in the Southside of Milwaukee.

If convicted, Martinez is facing up to two life terms in prison without the possibility of parole for each count of 1st-degree intentional homicide, and facing up to 12 years and 5 months in prison for 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety and fines up to $25,000, or both.

According to the criminal complaint, Martinez allegedly shot at Rodriguez-Duarte, Herrera-Mejia after a brief altercation, and Martinez then fled in an electric scooter. Rocha who is Herrera-Mejia's cousin was also shot by Martinez.

Rodriguez-Duarte, Herrera-Mejia and Rocha were attending Herrera-Mejia's 16th Birthday party, when they decided to take a walk with other party participants when they were soon confronted by Martinez and another male suspect who were passing by in an electric scooter. A brief argument ignited and Martinez took out a handgun and then intentionally shot at the victims.

In a short video released to Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA), shows when multiple teens are running for their lives including multiple young children and one of the shooting victims attempts to run from the shooting, but falls to the ground when shot, as other teens attempted to provide aid. 

Rodriguez-Duarte was pronounced deceased at the crime scene and Herrera-Mejia was later pronounced deceased at Children's Hospital, according to the criminal complaint.
