Karlos Javier Soriano-Cabrera, C-Viche Restaurant Co-owner Charged With 4 Felony Counts And 1 Misdemeanor Count For Sexually Assaulting 5 Women In Milwaukee

Soriano-Cabrera allegedly is accused of sexually assaulting five women, which one says, that she took a drink from the suspect and doesn't remembered what happened next until she later woke up naked and was in pain in her apartment, according to the criminal complaint.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Wednesday, Karlos Javier Soriano-Cabrera, 40, was charged with an additional felony count, totaling four felony counts for 3rd-degree sexual assault and one misdemeanor count for 4th-degree sexual assault in connection with the sexual assault of five women, according to the criminal complaint.

If convicted, Soriano-Cabrera is facing up to 10 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines for each felony count and up to 9 months in jail and $10,000 in fines for the misdemeanor count.

A totalled cash bond of $25,000 was set and a no contact order with the five victims was ordered.

Soriano-Cabrera is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on Apirl 24 with Judge Rosa M. Barillas.

According to the criminal complaint, Soriano-Cabrera sexually assaulted 5 women, several women claimed that they were sexually assaulted in the Spring of 2017 and two other women claimed they were sexually assaulted in the same night between 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. in September. Police collected DNA in several alleged sexual assaults and DNA evidence matched Soriano-Cabrera's DNA.

One of the women says, that in May 2017, she had a drink with Soriano-Cabrera at the bar and she later woke up in her apartment naked and felt she had been sexually assaulted (felt pain in her vagina) including symptoms consistent with being drugged and had a chipped tooth.

The criminal complaint says, some of the women Soriano-Cabrera sexually assaulted were employees at the C-Viche Restaurant in Bay View who claimed that they worked in a toxic environment in a daily basis, where he would expose himself, then assaulting them and sexual misconduct occurred in a daily basis. One of the woman says, that he grabbed her inappropriately, and made multiple attempts to corner her and kiss her at the restaurant. 

Several of the sexual assaults occurred inside the C-Viche on Bay View and in March 2017, a woman alleged that Soriano-Cabrera gave her a ride home and he forced her to give him oral sex near E. Locust and  N. Pierce. The woman told police that he put his hand in her back and directed her body to the downward position to perform the sex act. Among the employee female victims includes a patron.

The employees who were sexually assaulted claimed that Soriano-Cabrera used his position as the co-owner of C-Viche to force himself on them.

The sexual assaults occurred between March 2017 to September 2022.

In late March 2017, Soriano-Cabrera married Megan Todd, the managing owner of La Masa Empanda Bar on Brady Street.

According to court records, Soriano-Cabrera's wife paid $15,000 cash bail in September 2022 and on Wednesday, Milwaukee County Judge Jean Marie Keis added and additional $10,000 cash bond because the judge considered Soriano-Cabrera a flight risk and he was ordered to surrender his passport before being released on a cash bond.

In May 2010, Soriano-Cabrera was convicted for one misdemeanor count for retail theft under $2,500, according to court records.

Soriano-Cabrera is the Co-owner of several C-Viche restaurants, specializing in Peruvian seafood cuisines located in the Bay View area and in Shorewood, including the Kompali Taqueria on Brady Street (tacos restaurant) and at Kompali Tacos y Tortas, a fast food location inside the 3rd Street Market Hall on W. 3rd Street and W. Wisconsin Ave. as well.
