It's an unusual chain of events in the Southside double homicide that was reported by both the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office that have raised questions.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - As of Friday, it isn't clear how the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office determined how Milwaukee Police Officer Peter Eric Christian Jerving, 37, was pronounced deceased at 1:52 a.m. on February 7, 2023 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital and alleged armed robbery suspect Terrell Isiah Thompson, 19, was pronounced deceased at 1:51 a.m. at the scene of a police officer and alleged suspect shooting scene at the 2700 block of S. 14th Street.
It seems that Police Officer Jerving was still alive after the shooting around 1:16 a.m. and was conveyed to the hospital for treatment where he eventually succumbed to his shooting injury. On the other hand, Thompson died at the scene and his body remained at the shooting crime scene until the crime reconstruction and forensic investigation was complete.
So, if the pronounced deceased times are accurate, it would mean that Officer Jerving was conveyed to the hospital for treatment and the alleged arm robbery suspect Thompson was left to die at the scene. God forbid that the deceased times used by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office are accurate because it would indicate neglect by both police and the Milwaukee Fire Department first responders to treat both the wounded officer and the suspect equally in receiving life-saving measures.
A social media video posted on February 7 by Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) with courtesy of Red Carmel, which many individuals unsuccessfully attempted to have removed shows life-saving measures being performed on Officer Jerving who was still alive at the scene of the shooting, but hardly shows any life-saving measures on Thompson who was just feet away from Officer Jerving.
Did Thompson died before Jerving was actually pronounced deceased? The Milwaukee police would actually know the time Thompson actually died at the scene before the Medical Examiner arrived to investigate and it might show the time of death between Thompson and Jerving to be extremely different. The Milwaukee Police Department has not released the exact time when Thompson actually died at the scene and police body video camera footage to show that both Officer Jerving and Thompson received equal life-saving measures at the scene because the social media video footage that was exclusively used by the HNNUSA News report allegedly indicates otherwise.
Also, HNNUSA reviewed Milwaukee Police call logs for late February 6, 2023 and early February 7, 2023, which are public and on February 6, it shows that police from district 4 responded to a robbery call at 11:31 p.m. at 3633 W. Good Hope Road, but what it doesn't show or gets logged on early February 7, of any calls of police responding to a location in the Sourhside of Milwaukee to seek a suspect for armed robbery or any police call logs that a shooting incident occurred at the 2700 block of S. 14th Street nor any police call logs were publicly recorded that a shotspotter was reported near the shooting area indicating shots were fired. Odd, isn't it.
Was Officer Jerving and his partner operating under a clandestine police and law enforcement task force, because there was nothing mentioned whether officers from the Southside police district 2 were backing up with the search and the arrest of Thompson. The only police call log recorded on February 7, was at 5:32 a.m. for special assignment by district 2 at the 2700 block of S. 14th St. Also, how far behind was Jerving's partner during Thompson's chase who wasn't injured and didn't fire his weapon during Jerving's shooting.
Hopefully, a full police report and released police body camera footage will clear up the questions raised and why no police calls were posted in the public police call log before 5:32 a.m. that police responded to the 2700 block of S. 14th St. for a police involved shooting.
Point of interest, HNNUSA also learned that Milwaukee Fire Department EMS responders had a difficult time getting to the exact location of the shooting incident, indicating that it took longer to get to the police involved shooting, according to a source. If in fact that is true, then it would indicate time was of the essence to save both lives. But in reality, two young lives were lost, a devoted Milwaukee police officer and an alleged armed robbery suspect.
According to police, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at around 1:16 a.m. Milwaukee police officers from District 4 responded to the 2700 block of S. 14 Street location where a 19-year-old Black male armed robbery suspect wanted earlier for a robbery at the 3600 block of W. Good Hope Rd. was located. When officers arrived in the Southside of Milwaukee, the armed suspect fled on foot and when an officer caught up with the suspect, they began to struggle. The suspect fired his weapon striking the officer and the officer fired back striking the suspect.
