Marshall died from fatal wounds at the scene after firing shots at police when being pursued for kidnapping and carjacking several vehicles during his get away.

Oak Creek, Wisconsin - On Friday, David Marshall, 31, was fatally shot by multiple law enforcement officers including deputies from three different departments shortly before 8:30a.m. at S. 27th Street and W. Sycamore Ave. in Oak Creek, the Oak Creek Police Department reported in a joint press release with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and the Franklin Police Department.
According to police, Marshall who has not been officially identified allegedly kidnapped a male victim at the 1700 block of South 26th Street. He then drove the victim to at least three stores along S. 27th Street in Milwaukee and Franklin.
The victim alerted store personnel that he had been kidnapped. While at the second store, which was Wal-mart located at the 6700 block of S. 27th Street, store personnel called 911 and reported an active shooter.
Law enforcement officers from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the Oak Creek Police Department and the Franklin Police Department responded to the scene and Marshall managed to steal a second vehicle while armed and fled the scene as police and deputies pursued him.
Marshall led police Southbound of I-94 in an accelerated speed of up 110 mph and then got out at the W. Elm Rd. exit and continued northbound on S. 27th. He then lost control and crashed the stolen vehicle at the corner of S. 27 and W. Ryan Rd. in Franklin and stole another vehicle at gunpoint and engaged in a shootout confrontation with an Oak Creek police officer.
Marshall managed to flee northbound on S. 27 and struck a vehicle at S. 27 and W. Sycamore and crashed. He emerged from the vehicle with a weapon and 4 deputies, 1 Franklin police officer and 4 Oak Creek police officers discharged their weapons and Marshall was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
The deputies and police officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the shooting investigation.
The West Allis Police Department has taken over the investigation, according to Oak Creek Police Department.
According to Wisconsin state court records, Marshall was charged on July 17, 2020 with two felony counts for attempted robbery with use of force and remove of property from person or corpse and a misdemeanor for retail theft of up to $500.
On January 23, 2020, Marshall was charged with two felony counts for bail jumping and possession of methamphetamines and one misdemeanor count for resisting or obstructing an officer.
On September 17, 2019, Marshall was charged with multiple felony counts and pleaded guilty to burglary to a building, eluding police by vehicle and driving a vehicle without the consent of the owner.
