Wisconsin Democrat State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa Facing Democrat Challenger Maria Villarreal In The Partisan Primary Election And Republican Angel Sanchez In November

Wisconsin Democrat State Representative Zamarripa facing two challengers, one a Democrat in the Primary Fall Election and one Republican in the November Election.

Madison, WI - Incumbent Wisconsin State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa (D-Milw.) from the 8th Assembly District is facing challenger Maria Villarreal another Democrat in the August 14th Partisan Primary Election and a Republican challenger, Angel Sanchez in the November 6th General Election, according to the Wisconsin Elections Commission. Zamarripa submitted 277 nomination signatures to get on the ballot while Villarreal submitted 217 and Sanchez submitted 276 signatures.
Villarreal is a newcomer in politics and is running for office for the first time and Sanchez is a former Milwaukee Common Council member. Who ever wins the primary election moves forward to the November election.
Zamarripa is running for re-election and was first elected into office in 2010.
In other elections, incumbent Wisconsin State Representative Jessie Rodriguez (R-Oak Creek) in the 21st Assembly District is facing a Democrat challenger, Gabriel A. Gomez in the November 6th General Election. Rodriguez submitted 313 nomination signatures to get on the ballot for re-election and Gomez submitted 279 signatures.
Rodriguez was first elected into office in 2013.
Incumbent Wisconsin State Representative Josh Zepnick (D-Milw.) from the 9th Assembly District submitted 280 nomination signatures to get on the ballot for the Partisan Primary Election and challenger, Marisabel Cabrera (D-Milw.) submitted 260 signatures. Zepnick is running for re-election and was elected into office in 2002.
