Annual water purge event in the City of Lubbock included police officers who became targeted victims that were drenched in water by a mass crowd of Blacks.

Lubbock, Texas - On Saturday, a massive crowd of Blacks participated in an annual Water War Purge Battleground with water weapons and anything that could contain water to shoot or throw at each other. A female Lubbock police officer attempted to clear the street from people blocking it including traffic and became a walking target of the water purge participants and was shot multiple times with water weapons resulting in getting drenched in water during the nearly 100° degree heat.
Also a tow truck driver at the scene was targeted as well and got drenched with water by teens.

The event was scheduled between 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. Police reported no arrests or injuries at the 2600 block of East Baylor Street event.

Update: The Lubbock Police Department released a statement on Monday about Saturday's June 2 "water fight" by some participants and several officers who were assaulted with "super soaker" type water guns, water filled balloons, buckets and trash cans fill with water. Lubbock Police Chief Greg Stevens says that police detectives are conducting "follow up investigations regarding the assault of the officers, as well as criminal mischief and other related issues to determine if the filing of charges will be appropriate."
Chief Stevens confirmed that a police radio was damaged by water and "one of the officers had to temporarily go out of service in order to clean and dry her equipment and put on a fresh uniform, leaving the Parkway neighborhood short-staffed for a period of time."
At least 58 calls were made to the Lubbock Police Department on Saturday afternoon in regards to the "water war" at 2600 block of East Baylor Street and that reports of people throwing water balloons on none-participants were also reported including "some property and businesses damaged and residents harassed during the "water fight" event, which was referred to as "the purge" on social media. Also a vehicle windshield was reported damaged and reports that people passing by the area were unwillingly drench with water. No arrests were made on Saturday, according to Chief Stevens.
