Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On March 22, Jose Luis Discua-Bados, 36, originally from Honduras will appear in a Milwaukee County Court for a sentencing hearing after being convicted on February 14 for one count of 1st-degree intentional homicide for the January 3, 2012 brutal murder of Dayana Bados-García, 24. Discua-Bados is facing life in prison without parole.
Discua-Bados who re-entered the U.S. after being deported and had been on the run for five years after killing Bados-García was taken into custody in Tulsa for driving while intoxicated and Oklahoma authorities discovered that Discua-Bados was wanted for a 2012 homicide in Wisconsin.
Discua-Bados was extradited to Wisconsin and a cash bond of $1M was set, but has an immigration hold.
In January 2012, Discua-Bados attacked Bados-García with a 2X4 board while she went outside her residence to warmed up her car at the 2800 block of S. 13th St. Bados-García was trying to go to work when she was fatally stabbed by her estranged husband. Pilar Hernández, Bados-García's grandmother told police, that she heard a scream at about 7:20 a.m. saying, "Luis, No" and when she looked out the window, she saw Discua-Bados beat her granddaughter with the board. Hernández went outside and warned Discua-Bados that she going to call Milwaukee police. He ran back into the house and then returned with a knife and proceeded to stab Bados-García multiple times. He then fled the scene.
When police arrived, they saw Bados-García exhibiting multiple stab wounds to her back and head. She had about 12 stab wounds. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner pronounced Bados-García dead at the crime scene.
Discua-Bados was apparently staying with Bados-García, because she feared him and had previously been abused by him, according to Hernández.
