Tejano Singer Emilio Navaira Has Passed Away

The 53-year-old Tejano singer Emilio Navaira suffered a massive heart attack and passed away, according to family members.

New Braunfels, Texas - On Monday, Emilio Navaira, 53, originally from San Antonio and a popular Tejano music style singer passed away after suffering a massive heart attack, according to family members. Navaira was well known for his Tejano music along with his brother Raul "Raulito" Navaira.
According to the New Braunfels Police Department news release, first responders were called to the 6300 block of Myrtle Run around 8:20 p.m. on Monday shortly after family members found Navaira unconscious and not breathing at the home. First responders attempted to provide life saving measures before Emilio H. Navaira III was transported to Resolute Health Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. New Braunfels Police Detectives were called to the scene and determined in a preliminary death investigation that Navaira had died from natural causes, but the Comal County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause of death. Family members say, Navaira suffered a massive heart attack.
Navaira is survived by five children, one brother, Raul Navaira and sister, Yvette Navaira.

Public and fans invited for funeral services:

Visitation for Emilio H. Navaira III will be at the Freeman Coliseum, 3201 E. Houston St., San Antonio, TX 78219, on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with a rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 W. Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205, on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
