Kenosha County Murder Suspect Andrew Mario Obregon Arrested In Northern Illinois

Obregon had committed multiple crimes and had eluded police capture for weeks.

Lake County, Illinois - On Tuesday afternoon, Andrew Mario Obregon, 32, of Bristol, Wisconsin who was wanted in connection with the homicide of Tywon Anderson, 37, from the Town of Paris in Wisconsin and had eluded police capture for weeks has been taken into custody by authorities in northern Illinois after a foot pursuit, the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office reported. Obregon apparently carjacked a vehicle from a woman he severely battered at a home. She was transported to a Milwaukee hospital by Flight for Life from Brighton, Wisconsin. Obregon ended up in Illinois where he was spotted by police and after a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody by Illinois Lake County Sheriff deputies and other law enforcement agencies including deputies from the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office. Obregon sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, but non-life threatening, according to Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth.
Obregon while on the run committed multiple crimes including, carjacking, armed robbery, substancial battery, auto thefts and involved in several high speed chase pursuits in Wisconsin. He was booked at the Lake County jail while extradition to Wisconsin proceedings are filed.
Obregon is a known crack cocaine addict.
Andrew's mother, Susan Marie Obregon, 60, was arrested and charged for obstructing an officer and aiding a felon in relation to Anderson's murder investigation.
A reward of $5,000 was being offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

Update:

Andrew Mario Obregon is facing 9 charges in Lake County, Illinois for possession of a stolen vehicle, fugitive from justice, fleeing police, reckless driving, improper use of a lane/road and disobeying a traffic control device. A $250,000 bail was set for Obregon and has a court appearance scheduled for November 3 in Lake County, according to court records. Obregon is facing additional charges in Kenosha County, Wisconsin for murder and multiple charges for nearly a three week crime spree in the area.
