Altamirano, Guerrero, Mexico - On Thursday, the body of Catholic Priest Gregorio "Goyo" Gorostieta, 39, was found around 3:00 p.m. in the city of Altamirano with a gunshot wound to the head. Father Goyo's body showed signs of mutilation, torture and had gunshot wounds.
Goyo was kidnapped on Sunday from the seminar in Altamirano where he gave classes by an armed commando believed to be working with the local, state and President Enrique Peña Nieto's federal narco-goverment. Father Goyo was at the seminar to participate in several religious masses and a Christmas mass.
Father Goyo also known as "Goyito" was ordained as a priest in 2006 and became very outspoken against the Guerreros Unidos,  a drug cartel who he publicly accused of killing 43 Ayotzinapa students in Iguala/Cocula. He also alleged a major coverup of the September 26 student massacre by the Iguala and Cocula municipal police and involving state and federal corrupt government officials, military and law enforcement (Federal Police) who participated also with the state drug cartel known as the Guerreros Unidos in the kidnapping and murder of the students.
