43 Ayotzinapa Missing Students Bodies Discarded At Cocula's Municipal Garbage Dump

Mexican federal authorities led to Cocula's Municipal waste and garbage dump where the bodies of 43 Ayotzinapa missing students were discarded by local police and Guerreros Unidos.

Cocula, Guerrero, Mexico - On Tuesday, Jesús Murillo Karam, Mexico's federal Attorney General arrived at the waste and dump in Puente del Río San Juan in Cocula where the bodies of 43 missing Ayotzinapa students were discarded. The scene, a massive clandestine grave smelled like death, according to investigators. 

Four members of the Guerreros Unidos (GU), a criminal organization confessed on Sunday that two of them participated in the massacre of the missing students and two others were just lookouts for the GU.

On Monday, Karam announced that the four suspects taken into custody recently provided key information that led federal forensic authorities, federal police and military police to the massive crime scene in Cocula's garbage dump site. One of the suspects, Andrés Apolinar Barrera, a Guerrero Ministry Police Agent confessed and told where the students were buried. Barrera and one of the suspects participated in the students massacre and two others were just lookouts for the GU.

Karam said, that those responsible for the Ayotzinapa student massacre have been detained including some of the leaders and masterminds of the killings. More arrests are expected Karam, confirmed.

So far, 58 suspects have been detained including 14 municipal police officers from Cocula, 22 municipal police officers from Iguala, 16 members of the Guerreros Unidos, including several of its leaders, Sidronio Casarrubias Salgado and Salomón Pineda, aka, "El Molón."

Cocula Mayor César Miguel Peñaloza Santana was also arrested in connection with the missing students from the Raúl Isidro Burgos school in Ayotzinapa.
The federal attorney general's office (PGRF) issued warrants for former Iguala Mayor José Luis Abarca Velázquez, his wife, María de los Ángeles Pineda and Felipe Flores Velázquez, Iguala's Public Security Director who have disappeared and went into hiding after the students were kidnapped and some were brutally tortured and killed on September 26 and 27. Abarca Velázquez, Pineda Villa and Flores Velázquez have been implicated in multiple murders.

Guerrero Governor Ángel Heladio Aguirre Rivero resigned on Thursday over allegations that he was connected to the student murders and his political party was moving forward to oust him.
