Tejano Style Allstars Continue To Keep Music Alive

Tejano music lives on.

Laredo, Texas - Some of the rare sights in Texas is to get a group of old school Tejano style all stars to pose for a group photo. Joe Bravo, one of those Tejano all stars posted a group photo of Augustin Ramirez, Carlos Guzman, Freddie Martinez, Sunny Ozuna, Carlos Miranda and Bravo, himself in his Facebook account labeling it great memories. 

The Tejano style music has entertained millions in the U.S. and abroad. There are different styles of Tejano music, which is a mixture and blend of Tex-Mex music with roots from Mexico and the Texas region. The Bravo group is just one of many groups, conjuntos, orchestras that grew out from the Tex-Mex music.

Later, Jimmy Gonzalez and Joe Lopez with the grupo Mazz helped push the Tejano music into a more modernized style attracting the younger crowds, but keeping the more mature crowds in the mix.

More and more Tejano style of music playing groups continue to florist in Texas, Mexico, California and other parts of the U.S. These countless groups have some roots to the first Tejano style groups and their music.

Selena, Los Rondels from Laredo, Low Riders, Tony de la Rosa, Bobby Pulido, Jay Perez, Conjunto Bernal, Laura Canales, Little Tina, La Sombra de Tony Guerrero, Los Chamacos, Grupo Daño, Intocables, El Poder del Norte and countless others have kept the Tejano style music alive and in the hearts of an aging Tejano population.
