Six Women From Spain Raped In Acapulco While Boyfriends Watched

Gunmen near Acapulco entered a bungalow and subdued seven men and then raped their girlfriends in front of them.

Acapulco,  Guerrero,  Mexico - On early Monday, five masked gunmen entered a bungalow located on the side of the Hotel Bambuddha in the neighborhood of San Andrès in the suburb of Alfedo V. Bonfil located in the municipality of Acapulco and raped six female tourists. The gunmen subdued seven men and then raped their six girlfriends, all from Spain. In total, 13 Spanish nationals and a Mexican woman were also robbed. The Mexican national was not raped in the sexual assault and armed robbery.

The seven men were tied up with cellphone cords and six of the women were tied up while wearing their bikinis. The gunmen then took advantage of the women and repeatedly raped them.

The bungalow invasion occurred around 2:30 a.m. and the sexual assault of the women continued for almost two hours. The gunmen left at 4:30 a.m. and the crime was reported about two hours later, according to a press conference conducted by Luis Walton, the Acapulco Mayor and Martha Elba Garzón, the Guerrero State Attorney General.

The Spanish Consulate is working with Mexican authorities to provide help for the tourists.

The gunmen fled with electronic cameras, laptops, 16 cellphones, wallets, credit cards and other items with a combine valued of $2 million pesos ($157,000 U.S.).

No one has been taken into custody.
