Big Bear, California - On Tuesday, local and federal authorities are confident that Christopher Dorner, a former LA cop had fatally shot himself after setting a cabin on fire. A shootout between authorities and Dorner took place and after the shooting ended in the gunfight. Authorities heard one shot from inside the cabin and then a blaze followed. A burned body was recovered from the cabin.
Since February 7,  Dorner had been wanted and recently had been charged for a homicide of an officer from Los Angeles. He was also wanted in connection with the homicide of two other people.
Dorner had vowed to kill at least 50 other officers and their families. He was disgruntled for being unjustly fired from the LA police force.
Authorities had offered a $1M reward for information leading to his arrest.
Dorner was cornered at a cabin in Big Bear and he fatally killed one San Bernardino County deputy and wounded another during a gun fight on Tuesday. Authorities believe that the burnt body that was recovered from the cabin is Dorner. It will take several days to confirm that it was Dorner who committed suicide after setting the cabin on fire.
