Hundred Vehicle Pileup Along Texas Interstate 10 Claimed Two Lives

Multiple vehicles and trucks crashed into each other during heavy fog in Texas.

Beaumont, Texas - On Thursday, heavy fog was blamed for an early morning 100 vehicle pileup along Interstate 10 near Beaumont, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Two people, a woman and a man were reported killed and about 80 people were injured in the Texas pileup and were transported to area hospitals. The accident happened just after 8:00 a.m. between Taylor Bayou and Hampshire Road.
Vehicles and trucks collided with each other due to dense fog, including poor visibility. Most of the vehicles were totalled and mangled.
The victims were commuting to their Thanksgiving holiday family gatherings when the deadly pileup crash occurred.
