Milwaukee - On Thursday, police arrested a 33-year-old woman in connection with a child abduction, the Milwaukee Police Source (MPSource) reported. The suspect went to the Storms Early Childhood Center, 2616 W. Garfield around 3:10 p.m. and told school workers that she had permission from the mother of the 4-year-old girl to take her out from the center. She managed to convince school workers to release the child to her.
Shortly after, the child's mother located the woman and her child at the 2500 block of North Ave. Police arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody. The child was unharmed.
In an unrelated incident, a suspect was taken into custody on Sunday around 4:38 p.m. after police found him walking in the middle of the street with a 8-month-old baby girl. Numerous calls to police indicated that the man was trying to give away the infant to motorists at the 4400 block of W. Center St.
The infant was recovered by police and medical records showed that the child recently had a heart transplant and needed medication. Both officers, Kyle Baus and Dan Reilly were credited with the arrest and the safe recovery of the child, according to the MPSource.
The suspect is facing a charge for recklessly endangering safety of an infant.
