Davis Charged In Hit-and-Run Of A 22-year-old Pedestrian

Milwaukee - On Tuesday, Douglas W. Davis, 25, was charged with one felony count for hit-and-run causing bodily harm in connection with hitting Mai Kaw Xiong, 22, while crossing the E. North Ave. and N. Farwell Ave. intersection on early Thursday. Xiong was crossing the avenue with some friends when Davis hit Xiong with his vehicle and then fled the scene without stopping.
Davis went home and hid the vehicle in a garage.
On Monday, someone called Milwaukee police and tipped them that Davis was involved in Xiong's hit-and-run. He was taken into custody and his vehicle was confiscated for evidence.
Davis, a Marine had returned to Milwaukee a few months ago after serving his tour.
Xiong remains in critical condition and is currently on induced comma. She was supposed to graduate from Alverno College this summer, according to family members.
Davis, if convicted is facing up to 15 years in prison. A $20,000 cash bond was set for Davis.
