Two Died, Including A 10-year-old Child In A House Fire Without Smoke Detectors

Two children escaped the fire before firefighters arrived and a third child was pulled from the burning home by police officers.

Milwaukee - On early Wednesday, police pursuing a speeder near S. Cesar E. Chavez Drive and W. Washington St. noticed a house on fire. Two children managed to escaped the blaze around 2:20 a.m. and police officers were able to get a third child out from the burning house.
The child is in critical condition and the two other children suffered minor burns. Keshaun Davis, 10, and Amanda Wasserman, 20, his aunt died in the blaze, according to family members.
The blaze was so intense that firefighters had to be pulled back temperarily, but later were able to control the fire. The fire remains under investigation.
The house apparently had no smoke detectors.
