Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico - David Rivera Alvarez, aka "Z-43"  in a video posted on YouTube while being held against his will by captors, admitted his involvement in the Tampico Fair attack in early April. Alvarez body was found on Saturday in a side street in front of Televisa del Golfo (TV Network). He had been shot in the head and was still handcuff.
Before his death, Alvarez is shown by his captors confessing that a couple of grenades had been tossed inside the Tampico Fair and innocent people had been fatally shot. He said that a police officer, and a taxi cab driver were also killed.
Alvarez told his captors that a woman with the aliases "La Güera Liliana or La Puma" had ordered the attack on the Tampico Fair, and a Mexican military post. He identified other Zeta members who participated in the Tampico Fair assault and multiple homicides by aliases, "El Guapo," "El Bubo," and "El Mono."
The attack occured on Good Friday night on April 2, and Mexican military police estimated the crowd at the Tampico Fair grounds at more than 18,000 people. Military police evacuated the fair grounds and shut down the fair, all the adjacent businesses, restaurants and nightclubs in the area. The next day the fair organizers canceled the last remaining seven days of the fair at the Carpenter Lagoon.
Seven people were reported killed at the table dance Mirage Nightclub. The Tampico news media and government reports only reported the homicides at the Mirage Nightclub, but no mention of grenades exploding inside the Tampico Fair were ever reported to the public.
The 18 day Tampico Fair, was scheduled to run from March 25 to April 11, and was sponsored by area merchants and Radiorama, a radio network in the region. Radiorama never released information about the cancelation, but notified vendors it was due to security reasons.
The fair for the first time in its 50 year history had been canceled to avoid further clashes between the Zetas and the Gulf Cartel.

David Rivera Alvarez, aka "Z-43" admitted his involvement in the Tampico Fair attack, in which two grenades were tossed into the crowd, and also resulting in 7 homicides at the Mirage Nightclub. Narco Trafico en Mexico YouTube video: http://bit.ly/cBUPfo
